AOS eligible for Federal Student Loans?

Dear all:

I was admitted into a business school and need to apply for student loans for my tuition & living expenses. My current status is Adjustment of Status -- my hu*****and is the main applicant, and his 140 was approved. We both submitted 485 application but it has not been approved yet. So am I eligible for federal student loans? And if I have to apply for private loans, do I need an American citizen to be my co-signer? I've been in US for 7 years now. Thank you very much!!
