Do I need to file I-539 while I-485 is pending?

I just filed I-130 and I-485 for my parents 2 months ago. Their visa expire in April, and they are planning to go back to China in June (after getting the advanced parole).

Do I need to file I-539? If so, can I file I-539 at the same time as I-131 (AP application) or does it contradict eachother?
