Clinical tech and research?

Hi, there!

I got a certificate to be a clinical technologist while I-485 pending. But my present work is medical research in a lab which is applied to I-140. May I change job now? Are clinical tech and medical research as a post doc. the same or similar job? Please help me to figure out. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
