有没有人给父母办过绿卡? 父母这边需要准备什么材料?

我从网上查到其中有一项是父母的birth certificate， 请问这一项是不是必须的?
因为我的父母在国内的时候没办这个，而且我办绿卡的时候也没有提供过birth certificate，
不过我办的是employment-based。还有一项是父母合法入境的证明，请问签证可不
可以算? 因为他们的I-94表不慎丢失了。肯请大侠指教!
