急问 Pjiang!!

I got a senator to help for re-linking my pending I-485 (originally with NIW-140, which was denied, but in appeal) to my approved I-140 EB-1a. The answer from USCIS is that “The approved I-140 SRCxxxxx has a priority date of xxxxx for second preference.” What does the “second preference” mean? Did they linked or not? Thanks!!!!
