Pjiang and other Daxia, Please help B2 Visa!

My mom has B2 visa, arrived at SF and the officer only granted her 5 months of stay, but she has booked a round trip ticket up to 6 months. She does not want to change her schedule to head back home one month early. What is the consequence of staying one month more than she was granted? Would she have trouble applying visa next time? Please help! Any comment is appreciated! Thank you very much!
