some cases looked like what you talked about. But you have no choice if you are not in U.S on FP schedule. So suggest reschedule FP first and get the evidence,bring the tickets copies,passport, I-94 etc.to go to FP ASAP after you are back. Most IOs are nice if you show them the evidence that you do not miss the schedule by purpose.
