My EAD expired

Dear All, Thanks for all of your advice. My EAD got expired a month ago. I applied H1B visa in July and I was told this morning that my H1B visa got approved but the formal notice will come after a couple of days. Clearly, i have to wait for the H1B visa approval letter. Dose it matter if I don't renew my EAD card?
