上海签证预约的确认号用在那里?预约只给口头确认,没email确认吗?

上海签证预约的确认号(confirmation number)用在那里? 预约只给口头确认,没email确认吗? 万一预约信息有错,是不是签证时才会发现?那还让签吗?
