Is a contract job sufficient for I-485 approval

Dear Friends,

I am wondering if any of you can help answer my question. After I-140 approval and I-485 pending for over 180 days, I know you will be fine if you have a job in the similiar area as in your Perm petition. But I don't know if this job must be a permanent position or a contract job will do too.
