Sooner or later, USCIS will find out your leaving even if you do not turn in the I-94 when you leave.

- No true. As long as you come back with a valid AP, your I-485 will be fine. But if you stay in China too long (more than one year) your I-485 may be denied because USCIS may consider your intent not to live U.S. permanently.
