FBI&I-485

My case: K1 visa, get married, hand in I-485 2003.11, Fingerprint &Interview: 2004.2, just get a letter from INS stated the background check is on hold due to the added security reason.
My EAD is going to be expired 2004.12, how long it will take to renew it?
Anybody know anything about how long it takes to go through the background check right now? Thanks
