So can I still work for this company during waiting this period

Thank. My H-1B is validated from August 5, 2008 to August 4, 2011.现在到墨西哥或回中国的签证都预约available 在9月22日以后。If I have to go outside U.S to activate my visa, can I still work for this company during August 5 to 9月22日?
