H1 recapture and extension question for P Jiang

Hi, Pi Jiang Laoshi:

I have a question: My PERM was filed 2/15/08, my h1 will expire 1/31/09. So I was shot of 15 days for the requirement to file H1 extension. I travel overseas for 3 weeks with the passport stamp to show the travel. I will be eligible to apply to recapture the 3 weeks and extend H1 to 2/21/09. After that I will be eligible for post 6 year extension (based on the fact the PERM was filed 365 days before). My question is do I need to apply to recapture 3 weeks before then apply to extend H1 upon the approval of H1 recapture or can I just file one extension request to extend to 2/21/2010?
