Canada immigration (skilled worker) application:

12/23/2003, dated on 1st letter, file # issued

Yesterday, the lawyer faxed me the 2nd letter, dated on 07/07/2004 Interview waived at this time, ME and other documents needed.

Seems pretty quick now!
