Urgent!!----How long it takes to get the approval of H1 renewal?

Does any body ever renew your H1 visa recently? Could you tell me how long have you waited for the approval?
My research institute just submitted the application of 3-year renewal of my H1 b visa at the end of February. I need to get my parents over to take care my baby. I only have the receipt for the application. Does this renewal affect my parents’ B2 visa? Can I ask them to try to get the visa before I got the approval of H1 renewal!
