A question after 485 interview - Please Help Thanks

Hi, I just had my green card 485 interview today. The officer took my I-94 and told me my case is clear and I do not need it anymore. But I did not get my passport stamped and the officer told me he need to request a visa number from department of state (my PD is not current). I have not received any approval notice and my online case status still pending. So one question: since I do not have my I-94 now, can I travel internationlly using my AP only? I need to go back to China this summer. Thank you.
