紧急求助！！！！I140 denied，该怎办？

我们去年7月自己交了140和485的申请，去年12月底收到要求补件通知，在2月份补件后，今天收到被拒的通知电子邮件。
我们计划进行申诉。
此前，有几点问题请教：
1、我原为h4身份，去年12月开始用EAD卡工作至今，现在我是不是一定要回国，如果要回国的话，必须多长时间离开美国？
2、appeal期间我还可以合法呆在美国吗？还可以合法的申请EAD卡工作吗？
2、通过律师行appeal一般要花多长时间？
