Any negative affect or risk

I am in US and have applied for Canada Immigration (skilled work) but haven’t got the 2nd letter yet. Now, I am planning to visit a friend in Canada for a couple of days next month. Could some one tell if this visit may cause any negative affects on my Immigration application? Also, I am working in a local company on OPT. Is there any risk for me not to be allowed to return US?
