If you have signed a contract with your attorney

up front, do what ever the contract says. You can renegotiate with your attorney about the term if you think it is not fair anymore. However, you can not just ignore your attorney and do your own way. Remember he/she is an attorney, he/she knows how to use the LAW as a weapon to against you if he/she believes you break the contract.
