EAD expire on 8/7/08

I am planning to visit my family in china in April and May, Should I change my travel plan? or have to come back US before May 7?-I will start a new job in July.

Any alternative way to renew it? I understand there is fingerprint and I94 issue, I am afraid I have schedule conflict and I am not sure can I leave US after filing renew? Thanks for advice!
