to 没啥了不起 and 难兄难弟:
你们太偏激了，没那么严重。正象你们所说的，名字是符号，是为了别人叫着方便。孩子长在美国，连中文都不太会讲，自己常常抱怨中文名字被别人叫错，很不舒服，好容易有了绿卡了，能改了，为什么不能尊重孩子，给他改改呢？如果你们是自己上未拿到绿卡，心理郁闷，我能理解。但道理上，我们不该偏激。
我们这些做父母的，对中文有“情结”，大多不会为自己改名，但是不能防碍孩子吧！其实，我们自己也深有感受，自己在美国常常名字很难被人记住。这也是难于溶入主流的一个因素。台湾人在这方面比较开明。我们大陆人，自己跟自己过不去（我自己也一样）,但是如果为孩子的一生着想，是否该行动了呢？欢迎有这方面经验和考虑的朋友来说说。。。
