1. It's not a problem if the A# on OPT based EAD. I used to have one and then filed 485/765, got a new A#.

2. You may apply for AP by yourself and save some $$. But from what you said (you did not use AP before), you may not use this AP renewal. Plus, as you are working using OPT, it's risky to travel outside U.S. Your AP may not help you. IO may deny you as you are F-1 before approval of 485.

Why not apply for EAD while filing 485 and use this non-OPT based EAD? You are more secure this way.
