H1 Termination and Transfer

Will be terminated by the current company early next Month. Looks I can get a company to transfer H1 for me before that date. What would be the best starting date for the new work? Has it to be before the termination date?

Also I should be able to start the new work as long as I get teh transfer receipr, right?
