h1 extention after 6 years

Hi pjiang and all experts:

My spouse has his PERM and 140 approved a year ago. He has his own H1, Our 485 are pending.My H1 will expire soon (6 years). Can I extend my H1 for another 3 years (I'm not the primary applicant of the i485)? If not, how about 1 year? or do I haveto use EAD in order to work.
