Please help - Can I quit the job and be away for a year?

I am H1B status. I-140 approved. I submitted I-485 last July. I am still working for the same employer. Can I quit the job? Since my hu*****and (US citizen) will be sent to Germany to work for a year, I need to go there for a years. Does it influece my application? Please advise. Thank you!
