Yes, my green card is sponsored by my wife, an US citizen. During the interview, INS officer chatted with us for few minutes and approved my application. (Our case is very strong since we had married for 3 years ,and have our house and baby.) She took my I-94 and stamped I-551 on my passport. This I-551 stamp (Green Card stamp) is good for one year. INS officer need to take I-94 from applicants when they approve Green Card application cause permanent resident don't need i-94.
