To Xiaobaitu : question related to combining two A

Xiaobaitu, Thank you very much for your kind help !
I still have a question. If we require USCIS combine two files in their computer system to have one A number, does it mean only one set of I-485s will remain in their computer system after combination? Should we ask them to keep the EB2 based I-485 in their system while we request the combination?
