B2 extension help needed

I heard that if a B2 visa holder (6-month duration) gets another 6-month extension, he/she will never get approved on next B2 visa application after he/she leave US. Is that right? What's your advise if he/she wants to come to US frequently with staying duration of 6 months? Thanks a lot!
