B2 Visa Expiration Date - Help

My dad just his B2 to US in guangzhou. The visa on his passport shows the expire date, which is 3 months from the date he got it.

I heard that's the last day he has to leave China. Not the last day he has to leave US. When he enters US, he gets another I-94 showing him the last date he has to leave US. If that correct, or there is some changes?
