Pjiang and Xiaobaitu: Can I land Canada with an immigration visa

I have to land in Canada before Feb, but I just realized my immigration visa was issues on my old passport. Can I land Canada showing them both my old and new passport? Or do I have to have an immigration visa issues on my new passport? As I traveling date is very close, I appreciate your help! I emailed Canadian consulate and was told that I have to mail both passport back for a new visa. I am worried I might be able to get the visa back before the expiration date.
