Can F1 apply both EAD (485 pending) and H1b about the same time?

My wife and I have 485 pending. She is with F1-OPT now. Can she apply for H1b (her employer will sponsor)? Will it cause any trouble to the pending 485? Meanwhile my employer is about to apply for EAD for both of us. Do you see any problem here?
