Should I use EAD or apply for H1-B visa? 小白兔请进

My J-1 visa with 2 years waiver will expire this March 2008 and already got EAD in 2007. My questions are

(a) Should I use my EAD or apply for H-1B visa? Which one is better for me during the period waiting for the final approval of I-485?
(b) I never use H-1B visa before. If I apply for H-1B visa now, does H-1B visa influence the approval of I-485?
