USCIS easily notices it when H-1 status is not continuous, which will suggest being out of status upon denial of I-485.

In case of denial of I-485, the denial of H-1 reinstatement may bring unknown side effects on the admission of the principle applicant, I'm afraid.

If principle reinstates H-1 with no I-485 denial being involved, I would not worry that much.
