And even if it reaches 240 days, you can stay in US but not to work.

Employer has nothing to worry because in new I-9 employer manual, 240 days not only OK for H1 extension (based on b20), also good for EAD (based on c9, c8,.. etc), but for employee, the alien, EAD part is not stated and will be resort to 245k.
