you must have gotten a blue sheet. it is called "background check". otherwise the visa officer won't keep any of your documents. the I-797 form is for the sake of checking. I am a H4 from beijing and have been check for 3 months before I finally got my visa. don't worry. there's very very little possibility to be rejected for this type of visa. it only takes time to wait for the final approval. they will call you once the checking is completed.
