Do I need to apply AP?

I have H1B with I485 Pending, I am eligible to apply AP now. However, when I looked the instruction for form i-131(Application for Travel Document), it has note in first page, it says: You do not need to apply for advance parole if both conditions are met: 1) An H-1, temporary worker, ... 2) A Form i-485 was filed on your behalf and is pending with the CIS.
I met with both of above.
Then, it says, however, upon returning to the United States, you must present your valid H nonimmigrant visa and continue to remain eligible for that status. ( which is what I want : to remain nonimmigrant status H1B. )
So my understanding is: I do not need to apply AP or to apply entry visa from US embassy in China, I just need to show my valid H1B visa to US custom when I come back. Am I right or wrong?
