Agree with the previous reply. During the 485 adjudication you may receive RFE to demonstrate you are still engage in the similar job. It depends on your luck. Although it may be unlikely, but in any case if it happens to anybody, it means a totally start over. If I were you, I will try my best to comply that rule. EAD can be renewed every year.
