I just came back from China using AP. I filled out a new I-94 and the IO attached the departure portion to my passport. no harm to do it and it is easy to fill out.
By the way, using Ap is very easy. they took away my passport and the parole paper, didn't ask for anything elso, no questions, and it is done.
