I-485 approved after pending for 2yr 4month

I-140 &485 RD 7/2005
9/2005 1st FP
I-140(OR) AD 7/2006 after RFE for offer letter
inquired status at the end of 2006, one to two month later received letter stating process delayed due to name check pending.
03/07 trasfered to TSC from VSC
05/07 2nd FP
called TSC two to three times after that and was told name check pending
Infopass in 09/07: case assigned to an officer for processing, but NC still pending
2 to 3 weeks ago called TSC again and was told NC still pending. Then call NSC for status, thinking about filing lawsuit against FBI and USCIS.
11/06/07 checked online and the following unexpected message were seen (also for my wife):

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO
ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On November 6, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this
customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

Didn't contact any senators or FL due to lasiness and busy.
