No actual regulation on grace period (or at least I've not been aware of it), although people talk about 10 days or so.

You may be required to apply a visa if 1) employer timely notifies USCIS the termination of employment; 2) paystubs provided by beneficiary is not most recent. Either may lead to being out of status.
