I-485 党员解释

我父亲申请I-485, 在是否党员一项填yes, 最近收到Dept. of Homeland Security 的来信要求provide the explanation letter (党员填yes项). 请问各位大侠, 我们应该如何解释? 有谁有类似经历? 快快帮帮我们!
