请教关于OPT

我们学校的老师说是必须已经持有F1visa 九个月才能申请OPT，但是我的朋友告诉我，只要你当前状态是F1，并且你已经做了九个月的full time student,就可以申请，那位大侠可以告诉我到底是怎样？thanks a lot.
