ASC Appointment Notice?

My attorney filed my I-140/485/131/756 on August 16, 2007. Today I received an ASC Appointment Notice for capturing my biometrics. Can anybody help me explain what it is?

However, I have not received the receipt for any application as of today but this ASC Appointment Notice. According to the application number on this ASC Appointment Notice, I checked the case status for I-485 online. It shows that USCIS received the application of I-485 on Oct 3, 2007 and they mailed the receipt for the application of I-485. But I have not received this receipt yet. Can anybody help me explain why that is?
