About I140 and I485 filing

Is it possible if I ask Lawyer's help to prepare the I140 application material, prepare I-485 applicationand by myself and file both I140 and I485 togeher? If the lawyer is not willing to do so, can I file my I485 application right after my I140 submission? Or in this case, I have to wait for I140 approval to file my I485? Thx!
