Using H4 for family reunion is advised. based on current no-cutoff date for EB1, your H4 dependent will be able to submit I-485 rightaway. Don't worry about name check for her/him, since even you are not sure how long will you have to wait for your GC. But your dependent can certainly stay with you in US as he/she is waiting instead of isolating herself/himself in China.
