Strange! PF notice without 485 receipt (08/01 NSC)

Is it normal to get PF notice before 485 receipts? My lawyer just told me that my hu*****and and I got PF notices today. Problem is, the location is based on my old address in another state. Can I take the print at a location different place? Pls help! Thx!
