If you receive I-485 prior to to receive the new I-20, the new I-20 does not necessarily invalidate your I-485 petition

Check expiration on your current I-20

If your new I-20 is issued within 60 days of above expiration, you have maintained your F-1

If you have maintained your F-1 till denial of I-485, you don't have to leave then

If your new I-20 is issued beyond 60 days of above expiration, you maybe considered as AOS

If you even used AP/EAD, you are considered as AOS

If you are AOS when I-485 is denied, you need to leave US
