Can someone give me advise

I am holding conditional greencard which expires on 11/27.
I need to go to Canada on 10/19 and will be back on Oct 22. I don't know should I sumit I751 first or I should wait until I come back?
My concern is:
If I sumit I751, I am afraid that I couldn't get the receipt and don't have time to get a new stamp on that. Then, I cannot go to Canada.
If I don't sumit I751, I am afraid that I cannot come back and they said my green card will expire within a month.

Please...can someone help me here?
