lc approval notice lost

according to phone record system, my LC was approved on April 8th. However my lawyer hasn't recieved the letter yet. He called and they said they sent the original out, and they wouldn't send another one again. They said I could file I140 now by adding a cover letter saying the letter was lost. Anyone had the same experience? Was your I140 delayed because of this? thanks.
